There is something about a warm cup of hot cocoa after a long day outside... and we all know food & drink tastes better while you’re out camping or backpacking. This recipe is so convenient you can take it wherever you go, whether it’s a log cabin or a tent, this is a do-able recipe that will warm you up in seconds! Pro-tip: prepare your hot chocolate mixture the night before you take off and put it in a small plastic baggie for easy access once you arrive at your destination! This recipe makes 3 servings once put into a zip lock bag.
INGREDIENT LIST
- 1.5 or 2 cup powdered sugar (depending how bitter or sweet you prefer)
- 1 cup of cocoa powder
- ¼ tbsp of salt
- ¼ tbsp cinnamon
- Hot Water
- Marshmallows (Optional)
INSTRUCTIONS
- Mix all dry ingredients together and store in a reusable container to pack on trip
- Boil water. We love using the Halulite Tea Kettle if you're base camping, or the Pinnacle Soloist Set if you are backpacking.
- Mix 5 tbsp of hot chocolate mix into a 1 cup of boiling water and enjoy with your favorite GSI mug!
